And so we begin...

After more than sixteen years - yes sixteen! - combined service with the British Council, Martin McEwan and I have left to set up our own consultancy business. We'll be aiming to help UK and overseas based organisations improve their marketing operation, primarily in the public and education sectors.

After trying to craft the perfect home page for international students and helping education institutions to use their websites to recruit students for the last 5 years, I'm pretty certain that there's no such thing as the perfect pitch. It's horses for courses as they say.

Petrolheads go green

Watching ads on TV for cars lately I've noticed a couple of brands moving away from their usual messages and trying fairly explicitly to boost their green credentials. First up in the tree-hugger sweep is (unsurprisingly given the Swedish connection) Saab with their eco-power fuel.
