Check out this post from The European Union (I guess it's the part that promotes EU cinema). No subtitles necessary.
It's promoting European Cinema and the funding that it puts into it. So far so good. But it's an unusual move for the EU to choose this channel, isn't it? Well maybe not - sources from the EU tell us that it cost about 800 euros (I guess that they didn't have to pay for the media rights!) and that over 700,000 people have seen it. So a fair return then.
The EU have got it right - they fitted their target audience to the correct channel, for the correct investment, and made sure they can measure the impact.
Of course it always helps if you can get a bit of sex in there too...
Update: Just heard that the BBC has picked up on this and the euro-sceptics are offended. Quelle surprise.

Actually the best thing that can ever happen for these viral campaigns is that they generate publicity about being offensive. I wouldn't be surprised if they sent it to all the people they knew would get offended then asked them to comment (am I being over-cynical?).
Anyway, it's always worth trying to get the BBC to ban it...then it'll really take off...
..."Relax" anyone???
