Why Facebook?

Check out this post from Ian Lurie. It's all good stuff and very timely. I mean has anyone else suddenly got loads of friend requests for Facebook in their inboxes?

As a matter of fact, it's pretty obvious when you think about it - we've reached the point where even late adopters (including your humble obedient) are dipping their toes in the water, wondering what they're missing. In fact it's a tipping point (thanks Malcolm that's the first time I've used the phrase in my blog), a bridge crossed, a boat burned. From now on everyone will be wondering how they managed to live without this - and businesses will be wondering how they ever reached communities of interest as easily.
